BRAIN GAIN |
The ‘Brain Gain’ programme has helped many eminent non-resident Indian professors, especially from Kerala to visit the higher education institutions in the State as ‘Scholars-in-Residence’ for short-term teaching and other academic activities. This programme is integrated with the ‘Erudite Scholar–in– residence programme’.
In 2021, the Kerala State Planning Board sponsored a project for “Building Up the Database of Keralite Academic Diaspora around the Globe”. Dr. Manulal P. Ram, Research Officer of the KSHEC, headed the project and prepared a databank of the academic diaspora from across the world. The main objective is to facilitate brain circulation by inviting the experts from the different fields of science, technology, engineering, mathematics, social sciences and humanities during their sabbatical leave or domestic visits for engaging with higher education institutions in the State as short-term teachers and co-supervisors in researches, among others.
