Digital Enablement of HEIs in Kerala Faculty Training and LMS facility to Colleges

The Kerala State Higher Education Council (KSHEC), in collaboration with the Digital University of Kerala (DUK), launched the "Let’s Go Digital" initiative to digitally empower higher education institutions across the state. This initiative includes hands- on online training for faculty in using the Moodle Learning Management System (LMS), offered both as institutional training for entire college faculties and individual training sessions.

As part of the project, server infrastructure will be set up for participating colleges once their staff have been trained in LMS usage. However, due to limited space at the State Data Centre, the project also includes plans for DUK to establish a new dedicated data centre to support this expansion.

Currently, LMS services are being offered to trained institutions through DUK’s existing resources under the ‘Digicol – LMS to Colleges’ scheme. To date, over 100 colleges have received institutional-level training, and numerous faculty members have been trained individually as part of the Council’s digital enablement program.

Moodle-based training is provided at both basic and advanced levels. Interested institutions or individual faculty members can request participation in upcoming training sessions by submitting a formal application to the Kerala State Higher Education Council.
