Kerala Internship Portal: MoU signed with Keltron
An MoU has been signed with Keltron for the management of the Kerala Internship Portal, which coordinates internships and placements for students of the four-year undergraduate programme in the state. The agreement was signed in the presence of the Minister for Higher Education and Social Justice, by Higher Education Council Registrar Beena Rani M.S. and Keltron General Manager Rajesh G.
The Kerala Internship Portal has been developed by the Higher Education Council in collaboration with Keltron. The portal was initiated with the aim of providing high-quality internship and placement opportunities to students across the state. Through this portal, the Higher Education Department will ensure internship opportunities for four-year undergraduate students in all government-owned institutions, as well as in other public sector and private institutions operating in the state.
To streamline internship coordination activities, coordinators will be appointed at both the state and district levels. Coordinators of four-year undergraduate programmes in colleges and coordinators of skill development centres will serve as nodal officers of the portal. The collaboration with Keltron will help further strengthen industry-academia cooperation in the higher education sector. The portal will be made accessible to both students and higher education institutions. Training programmes will also be organized at state and district levels to familiarize stakeholders with the portal.
The event was attended by Higher Education Council Member Secretary Prof. Rajan Varughese, Research Officer Dr. K. Sudheendran, Keltron Managing Director Sreekumar Nair, Deputy General Manager Sameera M., Regional Heads Shalu Krishnan and Mridula, and Project Coordinator Usama M.N.
