KSHEC promotes internationalization through the Study in Kerala initiative and partnerships with global universities to foster academic exchanges and research collaboration.
Through the State Assessment and Accreditation Centre (SAAC), KSHEC conducts transparent assessments and accreditation of institutions through quality benchmarks, educational goals and state specific criteria.
The Kerala Institutional Ranking Framework (KIRF) is a state-level ranking system developed by KSHEC to evaluate higher education institutions based on academic quality, research performance, innovation, inclusivity, and societal impact, fostering transparency and excellence.
KSHEC drives curriculum reforms by promoting Outcome-Based Education (OBE), implementing flexible and multidisciplinary frameworks, and supporting initiatives like Four Year Under Graduate Programmes(FYUGP) and PG Curriculum.
KSHEC offers the Higher Education Scholarship (HES) for first-year undergraduate students enrolled in Government or Aided Arts & Science Colleges in Kerala. Eligible students must meet minimum academic marks based on their category. Scholarship amounts range from ₹12,000 for UG students up to ₹60,000 for PG students, with additional benefits for students with disabilities. Applications can be submitted through the KSHEC Scholarship Portal.
